New Weird Al Video
Weird Al - White and Nerdy! I'm finding that hoodie and buying it. Al NEVER disappoints. |
Edit: apparently the video isn't being hosted at google video anymore. I suggest you search for it on youtube.com, or just google it. It is worth the five seconds it will take to find it.

Baby Jesus, Help Us!
I forgot to post this when I read it, but ouch.
Army general says Rumsfeld refused to plan for post-war Iraq
That is pretty scathing review. It paints a pretty detailed picture. Ugh.
On a lighter note, I've found Dad Gone Mad is hilarious. Here are some of my recent favs:

And The Diagnosis Is...
Acid Reflux. For Lexie, that is. Actually, I have it too, but I haven't formally gone to the doctor for it.
The past three weeks have gotten progressively more difficult, mostly because Lexie has become progresively more fussy. She exhibits a lot of signs of reflux, and there is family history. I'm still not 100% sure that that's the problem, but we've got to give something a shot. After lots of spit-up, two Linda Blair-esque Exorcist-style projectile vomits, a baby obviously in pain, and three trips to the doctor, we got a prescription for some baby Zantac. We'll see how it goes.
Things definitely aren't all bad. She still has good days and bad ones, and when she's happy she's a perfect child. Hopefully this will make her feel better. Apparently over half of all infants have Acid Reflux problems.
Check out my actual homepage (not my blog). It has been redesigned!

Like Sand through the Hourglass
New pictures have finally been posted on flickr. It's been a while. Unfortunately, we have already failed in our goal to take one picture every day for a year. Somehow, we missed taking a picture on Sept. 10th. It was a busy weekend, so oh well. We will continue to take pictures as if we haven't missed a day. I figured we would probably miss a day eventually, and we made it quite a while. I'm a little upset about it, but we tried, and it's the thought that counts. We will still have a crapload of pictures - our "first year montage" will just be missing a picture or two.
Now for something completely different. As someone who takes Ambien, this is some crazy stuff. Kinda makes you wonder what that stuff is doing. It gives me some wild dreams.
Google Notebook is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I find so many little snippits on the web, and until now I had been exclusively using del.icio.us to save the links. That serves a useful purpose, but not really an effective way for storing articles/clips of information. I had been debating about whether or not I should create my own wiki, but Google Notebook has won me over. For now, I've published all the little lifehacks i've found on blogs (i've still got quite a few to add). I will add one for parenting, and probably keep a few for my own for music, linux tips, and system admin-type tips. The public interface isn't quite as nice because it doesn't allow for articles to be minimized, but you get the general gist.

It's Football Time in the Bluegrass
After a spanking by the Cards, the Cats seemed to have bounced back a little, albeit against a lowly D2 opponent. Hopes are high as Ole Miss comes into town next weekend. I'm going to go ahead and call it a win, which I rarely do, but I have a good feeling about this one. Rich Brooks and his team has something to prove, and Ole Miss is definitely beatable.
Hopefully the Bengals will be a force this year. They went out of the playoffs on such a bad note, but ole golden boy Carson Palmer seems to be back in full force. They didn't really lose many players, so I see no reason why they shouldn't at least make the playoffs again. They got off on the right foot by winning their season opening against a dangerous Kansas City. WHO DEY?!
For all those interested, here is my fantasy football team. I got first pick in our draft this year. I present the 2006 LexVegas UFIAs.
QB - Tom Brady
QB - Rex Grossman
RB - Shaun Alexander
RB - Chester Taylor
WR - Randy Moss
WR - T.J. Houshmandzadeh
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Ernest Wilford
WR - Chad Jackson
TE - L.J. Smith
K - Adam Vinatieri
K - Jeff Reed
D/ST - Seattle Seahawks
D/ST - Washington Redskins
Unfortunately it looks like I'm losing both Domanick Davis and Jerramy Stevens to injury. I've already got my eye on replacements, so I'll post them here once it's official. It just depends on how that damn waiver thing works out. Looks like I'm going to squeek by this week with a win, even though I ended up leaving Housh playing while he's out with a bad heel. Suck it up T.J.! I need Randy Moss to get me at least three points, so we'll see what happens.
BREAKING NEWS: According to wikipedia
"It is reported that for the upcoming 2006 season, the Cincinnati Bengals plan on adding additional mascots: The "Who-dettes." The Who-dettes will be a group of twelve female "little people" dressed as Bengal Tigers and will be on the sidelines during the game shooting hot dogs and t-shirts into the stands."
Read it yourself here. Midgets shooting hot dogs? Shocking. I can't wait to see that.

Really?
The internet never ceases to amaze me. Aparently everyone else thought the Wilford Brimley commercials for "Diabeetus testing supplies" were odd, but apparently I'm the only person that didn't make some sort of internet mockery out of it.
