Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

That's right bitches!  I got a Nintendo Wii.  If you want to come play, email me and we can set up an appointment.  If you're interested in purchasing a Wii, good luck.  You can play the lottery and frequently stop by Circuit City, Gamestop, EB Games, Wal-Mart, Target, Toys'R'Us or K-Mart.  Best Buy will be selling them every Sunday until Christmas, but you better get there damn early (like 5:30 AM).  They give out vouchers at 9:00 AM, and the store opens at 10:00.  You have to purchase by 10:15, or your Wii will be placed on the floor (and promptly sold to some lucky mofo).  Charles was nice enough to go wait in line at Best Buy with Allen, and I went and switched places with him at about 8:00 (he already had his own Wii).  It was worth the trouble.  Wii Sports, Zelda and Excite Truck are crazy fun.

So, lets see.  Lexie is doing good. She is four months old today (crazy..).  She went to the doctor for the next round of shots, and April said she did fine.  I couldn't make it due to being swamped at work, but Mimi was there.  Apparently she decided to celebrate her four month "birthday" by waking up at 4 AM and fussing for two hours.  That was awesome.  April had the crappy job of trying to soothe her - I tried to sleep, but didn't get much because of the crying.  Oh well.  She is going to start cereal/fruit now, so that will hopefully help with the sleeping.

Next week is a big one.  I'm going to see Tenacious D in Atlanta on Tuesday, then I have surgery to correct sleep apnea on friday (read about it here and here).  No solid food for two weeks - yay.  On the upside, I will lose some weight.  On the downside, I will be in a tremendous amount of pain (from what I hear).  Hopefully I won't have to stay drugged up the whole time because I'd like to spend some time with Lexie and April, and possibly even Princess Zelda ;).

For any of the Friday Pizza gang, I'm not sure how my surgery will affect our get-togethers.  I won't be coming, but hopefully some of the other people on the young adult commission can step up and fill in for me (*hint* *hint*).  Also, for those of you not registered for Vocare, please sign up soon!  Registration form here.  It's gonna be fly.

Keep your eyes on this blog as I will soon be posting a really hilarious video of Lexie.  This is America's Funniest Home Videos caliber stuff...

Stalling until 1:00

I've got work to do at 1:00, but not a whole lot to do until then, so I'm trying to fill some time.  Check these out.

Physics promises wireless power - I've thought/said before that anyone who can figure out how to power devices wirelessly will make a lot of money, and this looks like the first step.  Couple this with wireless USB/bluetooth, and you'll have keyboards/mice/cameras/whatever that don't need cables or batteries.  I can't wait for that.

Physicist Trying to Send a Signal Back in Time - There is plenty of debat on slashdot as to whether they are/will be able to send back useful information or just random data, but it's still interesting.

Random Crap from Teh Interweb

Quite possibly the best article written about Kentucky Football: http://www.sportsline.com/spin/story/9783470/1
Some financial advice that is actually pretty good: http://www.yourcreditadvisor.com/blog/2006/10/102_personal_fi.html
A giant list of palindromes: http://palindromes.hobby-site.org/

Just a note.  I would like to say that while I feel that every, and I mean every career politician is a crooked, cheating, swindling, asshole pig shitbag - yay for the dems.  Will anything really change?  Doubtful.  Maybe we'll get a raise in the minimum wage, which is far overdue.  Iraq will continue to be a quagmire that no one will be able to fix for a very long time, so I hope no one expects a quick fix.  I think everyone realizes that just pulling all the troops out is just going to make things worse.  Maybe that's why people are so pissed - we're stuck in a shitty situation and don't really have any options.  Hopefully the departure of Rumsfeld will result in better management of the situation.

So, I leave you with:

Dog — no poop on God! Elf farm raffle. Eva, can I stack Rod's sad-ass, dork cats in a cave? I moan, "Live on, O evil Naomi!" No devil lived on.

(if you're confused, those are all palindromes)

Ho Lee Crap

It's only Tuesday and my head is about to explode.  Voting this morning was only a minor inconvenience, but i've heard it's gotten worse as the day has gone on.  Old people just can not get the hang of our new electronic voting machines, and honestly I can't really blame them.  They're hard to use.  I consider myself remotely coordinated, so I tried to vote as quickly as possible.  We have approximately 20 uncontested races in Lexington, and you have to go through and select each and every person running, even when they're the only choice.  It took me about five minutes to get all my ballots selected, moving at what I would consdier top speed for the voting machine.  I think some people are in for a long day.

I am on call this week and literally up to my ears in work crap.  It's times like this when I wish I had a lazer gun, because I would be shooting things.

I haven't blogged in a good while (mostly due to the aforementioned business), so I've once again gotten backed up on incredibly interesting tidbits to share with the world.

Lexie is almost 3.5 months old now, and we have cute pictures from her "birthday" and Halloween.  She was a kitty for Halloween and it was incredibly cute.  Pictures are on flickr, and I will post one on here once we get them all off the camera.  She is growing like a weed, and doing new cute things every day.  Her mommy is still struggling to get her to sleep as much as she should, but I think we're making progress.

Now, with the links.
